In 2007, there was a show that aired on Discovery Channel called 2057 that sought to imagine how the world would be in 50 years.
As a child, it felt fantastically futuristic. Holograms, flying and self drving cars, robots, instant medical aid, 3D printed organs, and so much more. 15 years since, and the list above is almost mundane! Heck, a drone just saved someone's life and fusion is slowly actually happening (though I won't sing praises until it gets into broad usage). Assuming the world doesn't shoot itself in the foot with one or multiple of the super powers being stupid (namely US, China, or Russia invading a different allied country), then a good future might actually come to pass.
I also recently read an article from 1922 describing what the future may be like, and it's eerily correct in many ways (though off the mark in others, which is to be expected, but I would say this is one of the better predictions I've seen and is worth a read).
