I think the cause of a lot of strife in the world can be attributed to the unequal distribution of resources between people. If humans followed a thermodynamic system, then we would diffuse our resources to an equally distributed layout (highest entropy). Unfortunately, humans aren't like that; we are greedy, or at the very least needy in order to stay alive and thrive. Hanlon's Razor states that we should not attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity, so I think I would argue that most resource inequality stems from a general lack of knowledge rather than malicious intent. The lack of knowledge may not necessarily be of how to get resourcese from A to B, but of what to do with the resources once they are in the hands of the impoverished, and then to make the deal fair so as not to jilt the giver, the receiver must reciprocate, else feelings of annimosity will form over time, and the relationship will breakdown.
I'm not saying that a half baked thought whipped up in an afternoon will overturn economics the world over, but I just want to speculate.
If we can improve education, especially focusing on learning how to learn (is there a word for this?), metacognition, and emotional analysis in addition to the hard skills already taught, then I think that would allow us to navigate such transactional relationships better, and by utilizing the skills on exponentially larger scales than individuals, then we can work to distribute and utilize all of our creations in a more effective manner.
