Math is truly the language of the gods. With math, you can find the secrets of the universe, as well as unravel the mysteries of any physical or imaginary content.
As more and more ideas in our lives are quantified: such as the actual fabric of the universe, huge objects like black holes, the neural systems of our brains, and the ways DNA sequences work, the more that we can understand of these topics. Science and math and engineering are a glorious combination where math suggests an idea, science confirms it, and engineering utilizes it in order to create new tools that will create more ideas in a infinite feedback loop.
And don't say you're not good at math. Math, writing, farming, business management, art, construction, and more are all the same. They all are complex processes where a higher order is recognized, sought to be understood, tested, and if the feedback is positive, then continue down that road. Granted, that's a very general thing to point out, but the parts of these topics that sets them apart I would say are nit picky and should be left to the people performing the tasks and their own likes and dislikes. If someone prefers serving the higher order by repairing cars rather than serving the higher order by selling stoves, then that's their own choice. However, the nice thing about life being one large circle, is that everyone works to serve the people in front of them, which ends up forcing the world to be a better place.
I would also advise dabbling in all other forms of work. If you haven't learned how to change your car's oil, you may want to do that. If you don't know how the immune system works, Google it for five minutes. And personally, I cannot stress enough how important it is to take a statistics class or learn how statistics work. Just to know that when a newspaper or magazine says "studies show..." or "according to Americans..." their data may be completely unfounded, biased, or entirely fudged in the first palce. Do not trust what you read or hear unless communicator can back up what they have presented with evidence.
Now I know that these ideas probably lacks some clarity, and I may explore this in further posts. However, I hope that the idea of everyone working toward a common, yet perhaps unseen or unknown goal offers some comfort that no matter where you are in life, no matter what you choose to do, and no matter how you choose to do it: you will not be alone. But I also hope that you make sure to take all forms of communication with a grain of salt; this will be vital to our civilization's survival.
