Pear Pie

Ingredients

• 2 9in pie crusts
• 1/2 c white sugar
• 3 tbsp flour
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp lemon peel
• 5 c pears (peeled, cored, and sliced)
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp lemon juice

Process

• combine sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and lemon rind in mixing bowl
• arrange pears in layers in a 9in pastry lined pan, sprinkling sugar mixture over each layer. Dot with butter and sprinkle lemon juice
• Roll out remaining dough; cut slits for steam. Moisten rim of bottom crust, place top crust over.
• Fold edge under bottom crust, pressing to seal. Flute edge
• Bake at 450F for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350F and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes.
• Allow pie to cool before serving

Notes

• This is the tastiest pie, in my opinion
