Unfortunately, I still need JS for some things to work properly. You're welcome to keep it disabled, but the onus is on you if some things don't work (I promise I'll get around to fixing it)...

This Webite!

websites

This website is a place for me to play and grow and learn about networking and webdev.

I create various html pages that can be loaded by php scripts, stylized by css code, and modified by JS scripts. It exists on a desktop computer in my basement that I built from scratch (shown above). The website is then opened to the local port, and forwarded to the external https port so that you can access it from your device.

This site is useful for a number of reasons: I learn how websites work on a number of levels without having anything to lose (so I can play and not be afraid of failure or be held accountable for anything here), I can have a secure place for my files and media so that there is always a backup, and there is an easy-to-access place for recipes so that we can make good food, and I can add easter eggs, of course.

It has been slowly developing since 2014, starting with a basic local file and Minecraft server, then I taught myself html, moving on to css. javascript, and php. I'm now learning how to exercise those tools more effectively to improve aesthetics and functionality. Below is a screencap of how the development process generally looks, though recently I've made an in-browser editor for various pages such as the projects and recipes.

While progress is hard to see from just the current version, this project has gone miles from when it first started, and it is expected to go much farther.
