Unfortunately, I still need JS for some things to work properly. You're welcome to keep it disabled, but the onus is on you if some things don't work (I promise I'll get around to fixing it)...

Roll and Go

businesses

Roll and Go was a company that my high school friend and I started in November 2016. It was meant to produce portable sporting equipment for campers, hikers, and athletes. We started with muscle massage rollers, and began the process for a patent.

R&G was a general partnership where I handled the manufacture and design of the products, and Jessica handled the finances and sales. Unfortunately, there was a major falling out due to lack of communication, so the business ended up failing.

The business gives us an opportunity to learn about how business operate on various levels including legal, financial, marketing, and engineering while being able to give back to those around us. It was a great learning experience, and I think it would be a decent idea to revisit it again in the future when I have more experience under my belt.

Together, Jessica and I had created the designs for the portable massage rollers, then we set up the legal agreements and founded the business. From there I developed the website (compare the first version and the the second version), created vast amounts of media including images, videos, and the logo, designed and manufactured more types of rollers, filed the patent, and have been worked on selling the products. The sales were the biggest challenge for me as I was (and still am) a fairly introverted person.

Overall, Roll and Go was a good way to get my feet wet dealing with the ins and outs of the business world, and improving my skills on multiple fronts, especially in technical things such as 3D printing and design, image and video editing, web development, logo design, and the legal and financial requirements. I also learned the importance of communication and choosing a compatible business partner as well as the importance of making a sale.
