Unfortunately, I still need JS for some things to work properly. You're welcome to keep it disabled, but the onus is on you if some things don't work (I promise I'll get around to fixing it)...

Apocalypse

hardware

Our Fall 2016 HackISU project was called The Apocalypse, as our group was named The Four Horsemen. This project initially started as a hardware Hack, but evolved into a psychological experiment when certain aspects of the design no longer functioned.

The device works similar to a gameboy where the user pushes one of two buttons to answer "Yes" or "No" to a given question. The user then either wins or loses a point depending on their answer.

HackISU is a two day long semesterly event where participants create something, with either software or hardware focus, in order to push the limits of what we know. In the end, everyone learns something, and everyone has fun.

We learned how to program arduinos and design a case around the internal hardware.

Initially we wanted a handheld gaming device that would be able to utilize the small screen available, as well as the bluetooth capabilities of the Arduino, as well as development of an Android app.

The first image above was our original software design, where we would be able to have a number of games, including those that would change the screen color, or have a "runner" type of game where the player would need to jump or duck, depending on the obstacle.

As time wore on, the software design changed into the second image above, due to the facts that we were not able to figure out the screen changing color until much too late, as well as the lack of claimed bluetooth capability on the arduino.
